"Movie Ranch Wins Suit"

George Spahn's Movie Ranch was sued for $50,000 as a result of a fall from a horse in New Year's Day of this year by 15 year old Donna McClure. Miss McClure suffered a broken leg, still reinforced with a temporary 14 inch metal rod inside her femur leg bone. With medical bills over $2000, the plaintiff had refused an offer of $500 to help with her expenses.

Failure in attempt to prove bad reputation and partial blindness of the horse involved, resulted in a verdict for the defendant, George Spahn, who contended that the 19 year old horse was and had been gentle all the many years owned by him. Spahn was represented by attorney Charles Hinman ["Topanga Journal" publisher].
